Program Announcements


Each of the regular monthly meetings typically features a presentation by a speaker noted in the earth sciences. The subjects range from rockhounding to the lapidary arts and mineralogy to geomorphology.

Meetings begin at 7:30 pm, the second Monday of the month. See these pages for the location and directions.

February 8, 2010: Bay Area Geoscapes with John Karachewski. Explore the beauty and diversity of the San Francisco landscape with noted geologist and internationally renowned photographer John Karachewski. His presentations are always enlightening and uplifting. Don't miss this one!

 

March 8, 2010: The Mines of Mount Diablo by Ken Lavine of the Mount Diablo Interpretive Association. Ken will preview the facinating minning history of Mt Diablo in preparation for a hands on minning field trip he will be conducting shortly after the presentation. If you will be participating in the field trip, this is a must see introducton.
